The Great Pulaski County Duck Race
The 21st Annual Great Pulaski County Duck Race will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 in conjunction with Old Settler’s Day. The field consists of 72 ducks. Six qualifying heats will be held and the first and second place winners from each heat will be eligible to compete in the Championship Race. All ducks eliminated in the heats may compete in the Consolation Race.
To sponsor a duck, organizations, businesses or individuals pay a $100.00 entry fee. In return, they receive a decoy duck to name, decorate and train. In addition, they receive 50 tickets to sell for $1.00 each to defray the cost of the entry fee. If a sponsor’s duck wins, one of their tickets will be drawn for the winning prize.
This event is open to the public.
New this year: People’s Choice Award for the Best Decorated Duck. All voting must be done on site the day of the event.
